The Air Jordan 11 Bred is one of the most popular Air Jordan’s, and because of this, it has been retroed many times, including on the 14th of December this year. Jordan have made a habit out of dropping hyped Air Jordan 11s just before Christmas, with the Space Jams coming out in 2016, and last year, with the Concord 11’s.
The Air Jordan 11 is one of the most iconic sneakers of all time, thanks to its clean silhouette and patented leather that wraps around the bottom of the upper. Tinker Hatfield, one of the most prolific designers ever, said this was his favorite Jordan he made, and this shoe is also one of Michael Jordan’s personal favorites.
This Bred rendition of the shoe was particularly popular with Michael Jordan, who wore it for a lot of the 1996-97 season, which happened to be the season Jordan was the MVP, Finals MVP, and received 1 of his 6 rings.
Jordan recently has tried to make their retros closer to the originally released shoe, and this sneaker is no different, with the patented leather being a higher cut unlike more recent retro’s. The internet has been split on this change, with some believing any change to make a Jordan closer to the original version is a positive, whilst others think that the new sneaker looks fundamentally worse.
For $220, the Air Jordan 11 Bred is more expensive than most retros this year, so it won’t be cheap, however they have been made in very high quantities, so if you would like a pair, you should be able to get one on the 14th of December.
