In 2018, La Lakers star LeBron James and designer John Elliot teamed up to create a brand-new silhouette dubbed the Nike LeBron x John Elliot Icon.
Coming in a semi-translucent upper, with embroidered patterns inspired by the hardcourt. The shoe has a very modern aesthetic, which is helped by the full-length Air Unit in the sole.

Since the Icon’s original release, back in April of 2018, the shoe has dropped in all-white, triple-black, tulip, and beige in a black and white colorway.
Each release saw a decent amount of coverage and had a relatively positive reception from fans. But many of the more recent colorways that came out last year are still sitting on shelves.

This could be for several reasons; firstly LeBron James may have one of the most successful basketball sneaker lines. But that doesn’t necessarily translate to there being a demand for LeBron James lifestyle shoes.
Whilst looking great, the LeBron x John Elliot icon did not resemble a classic LeBron James shoe. And it, therefore, may not have had the same appeal to his die-hard fans.

Moreover, the shoe retailed for no less than $250, which is understandably out of most sneakerheads price range, or at least what they would be willing to pay.
If you are interested in getting yourself a pair, the LeBron x John Elliot Icon is still available from secondary market websites such as StockX and Goat, for as low as $110.
